"Pregnancy after loss is such a special, sacred experience."

"Chris and I found ourselves quietly savoring each day and milestone. Last fall, we unexpectedly found out we were pregnant; ironically (rather, divinely) after I declared that my body was done.

On February 9th, I went into labor at 22 weeks. Everyone expected us to deliver within days. By the grace of God, labor was haltered after many starts and stops...for 10 weeks. These two+ months on hospital bed rest have been both challenging and amazing. Each day I went to sleep not knowing if I'd wake up pregnant...."

After 10 weeks of bed rest, their baby boy, Andrew, made his way into the world. Mama got her VBAC she hoped for, and while Andrew spent the first chunk of his life in NICU, he is now a happy and healthy 9 month old! I have loved following his mama on Instagram to watch him grow and see all of their special moments as a family.

I was so honored to be able to document this precious time at home for them and honor their son Ethan, while holding space for their other losses as well. This little boy has a warrior for a mama, and an equally amazing dad.
